Sharing Christ's Love on the Peninsula
At The Gospel Church, we have a vision to see the Long Beach Peninsula transformed by the good news of Jesus. This mission field right in our backyard is ripe for harvest! Here are 3 key ways you can help extend Christ's love across the Peninsula:
1. Pray for hearts ready to receive the gospel.
Jesus said "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers" (Luke 10:2). We need to bathe this mission in prayer, asking God to prepare hearts and open doors for the gospel message. Just as a farmer prays for the heavens to open and rain to fall before sowing seed, we must pray for God to open hearts on the Peninsula before we sow the seed of God's Word.
2. Build relationships with those who don't know Jesus.
We have been entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). Get to know your neighbors, coworkers, and community members. Earn trust through genuine care and interest in their lives. It's like being a bridge builder - constructing a safe passage for the gospel to cross into their hearts.
3. Share your story of encountering Jesus.
Your personal testimony is powerful. The woman at the well immediately told her town about meeting Jesus, and many came to faith! (John 4) Be bold to share transparently how Jesus has changed your life. Your story might be the key to unlock another's heart for the Savior.
Friends, we have an exciting opportunity to impact our region for Christ! His love compels us to make disciples of all nations - even this beautiful Peninsula we call home. Let's work together to effectively share the greatest story ever told - the gospel of Jesus Christ!
