Psalms 23:1-4 (ESV) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Donald Grey Barnhouse, a famous preacher of the past century, wrote the following: “I was driving with my children to my wife’s funeral where I was to preach the sermon. As we came into one small town, a truck came to a stop on the other side of the street. It was the biggest truck I ever saw in my life, and the sun was shining on it at just the right angle that took its shadow and spread it across the snow on the field beside it. As the shadow covered that field, I said, "Look, children, at that truck and look at its shadow. If you had to be run over, would you rather be run over by the truck or by the shadow?"
